Fridley Public Schools

For Aidan Andler, high school has been a time of growth, exploration, and balancing challenge with opportunity. From excelling in academics to taking full advantage of what Fridley High School had to offer, Aidan is ready to take the next big leap – with gratitude for how far he's come.

This fall, Aidan will attend Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) in Troy, New York, where he’ll pursue a degree in Computer and Systems Engineering. Known for its rigorous STEM programs, RPI is a fitting next step for someone who has spent his high school years pushing himself both academically and personally.

Aidan says one of his favorite things about Fridley High School was its flexibility, something that allowed him to be fully immersed in both academics and extracurriculars. “I’ve been able to be part of many sports and activities that would conflict at other schools,” he says. “With PSEO, I could take college-level courses and still be involved in school life.”

Among the highlights of his high school experience was being recognized at the Academic Achievement Banquet, where he was honored for graduating with highest honors. “It made all of my hard work over the past four years worth every second of the struggle,” Aidan reflects.

Behind his success is a strong support system – especially his mom. “She’s inspired me throughout this entire journey. She works incredibly hard at her job and reminds me daily how important it is to work hard,” he shares. “Getting through high school wasn’t easy, but it would’ve been so much harder without her example and support.”

To younger students just starting out, Aidan offers some sage advice: “Get involved. Activities are fun and help you make new friends, learn new skills, and become a better person. It’s hard to balance schoolwork and activities, but it’s possible—and it’s worth it.”

As he prepares to leave Fridley, Aidan says what he’ll miss most is the simplicity of high school life. “It’s the last chance to really be a kid,” he says. “I’ll miss my friends, the easier classes, and just having fun. What comes next is exciting, but I’ll always treasure this time.”

Aidan Andler heads into the future with curiosity, drive, and a grounded sense of what matters most. With his passion for engineering and dedication to learning, there’s no doubt he’ll continue to make a meaningful impact wherever he goes in the future.
