For Le’Asia Moore, high school has been a place to grow, connect, and discover her voice. This fall, Le’Asia will attend Augsburg University, where she plans to major in Communication Arts/Literature while earning her teaching licensure for grades 6-12.
Looking back, Le’Asia says her favorite part of high school was seeing herself and her friends grow over time. “Growing up and watching my friends mature, and creating new friendships along the way was really meaningful,” she shared. “All the school social events made my friendships stronger and made me appreciate the community we have here.”
One of Le’Asia’s proudest accomplishments was being inducted into the Minnesota Honor Society. “That moment helped me realize that both my academic achievements and who I am as a person truly matter,” she said.
Throughout her journey, it wasn’t just one person who inspired her, but the collective experience of high school itself. “I think for me everyone and every experience I have had here made it impactful for me,” she shared. “They taught me how to carry myself as a young adult and how to advocate for myself.”
To incoming freshmen, Le’Asia offers this advice: “Branch out. The more you create bonds the better. School will always have something for you to do, and the most important thing to do is surround yourself with those that have the same mindset and goals in life as you.”
As graduation approaches, what Le’Asia will miss most is the feeling of community. “Seeing your class come together to win things such as a spirit stick for the pep fest, or even just hanging out together for the senior sunrise, it really shows how as community even on bad days we really grew up together and made impacts on each others lives, and you’ll only experience something like that in high school.”
We are proud of Le’Asia and can’t wait to watch her succeed in her post-high school endeavors!
