After a thorough and competitive interview process, and pending school board approval, we have selected two candidates to serve as assistant principals at our elementary schools. Greg Beeck will join Hayes Elementary School and Abby Jensen will serve at Stevenson Elementary as assistant principals.

Principal Iverson shared this with families about Mr. Beeck:

Mr. Beeck joins Fridley from Intermediate District 287, where he has served as principal since 2019 and an assistant principal since 2015. There he implemented a core literacy curriculum intervention program at the elementary level, and provided leadership to increase effectiveness of education for students with disabilities. Prior to that, Mr. Beeck served as an elementary special education teacher and coordinator with Mankato Public Schools.

Through the process of getting to know Mr. Beeck in interviews, my excitement grew in anticipation to have an incredible administrative partner at Hayes Elementary. His years of experience in leadership, passion for all students achieving at high levels, focus on authentic relationships and extensive background in special education make him a dynamic leader to serve our community.

Principal Mathison shared this with families about Ms. Jensen:

Ms. Jensen’s commitment to our school community is evident to anyone who has worked with her or seen her with our students and families over the past eight years. In her time at Stevenson, Ms. Jensen has served in numerous important roles, including as a master teacher, PBIS leader, building leadership team lead, and an instructional leader. With more than 20 years in elementary education, I know that Ms. Jensen will continue to demonstrate that she is a professional leader with strong interpersonal skills who will support high academic excellence for all Stevenson scholars.

Details on starting and transition dates will be shared soon. Please join us in welcoming Mr. Beeck and congratulating Ms. Jensen to these new and exciting positions!
