Families with young children filled the Fridley Community Center gym on Nov. 9 for the annual Fridley Early Childhood Family Education Fall Festival. Children were greeted with multiple family oriented activities such as coloring, a pumpkin tic-tac-toe toss, a bounce house, storytime and more, helping foster their learning and development.
The Fridley Middle School 7th and 8th grade AVID Elective class and members of the Hey Girl Mentor Program additionally volunteered and led the activities for the families.
Approximately 80 people participated in the fun. Additionally a winter gear swap was held by the city of Fridley, allowing families to donate gear and also pick up new gear and toys for their children.
“The event was extremely successful,” said Lila Map, early childhood coordinator & parent educator. “We were happy to provide an opportunity for our families to come together in celebration.”
