Eleven Fridley High School AVID students competed in the Northwest Suburban Integration School District (NWSISD) Leadership Conference on April 22. Students engaged in competitions for essay writing, college and career research, and AVID Jeopardy. Students also participated in a college and career fair to learn more about post-secondary options. Special Mentions and Awards included:

• The team of Raymond Nelson, Reece Powell, Ryleigh French, Destyni Williams, Sakaya Nimley, Alexis Thao finished third overall in the AVID Jeopardy competition.

• Aliyannah Tresvant was one of six candidates out of over 100 to make it to a final interview round and placed 2nd for both interview skills and cover letter and resumes.
