On Wednesday evening, the Osseo Area Schools Board of Education announced they were entering contract negotiations with Dr. Kim Hiel as their choice for the Osseo Area district’s next superintendent. Hiel has led Fridley Public Schools since 2018. 

Fridley School Board Chair Ross Meisner offered congratulations and addressed the district’s plans moving forward. “Congratulations to Dr. Hiel. We have been delighted with her work in Fridley and will miss her greatly,” said Meisner. “She leaves big shoes to fill and has set a high bar for our next superintendent. We will begin the search process immediately and will share updates shortly on the planned timeline.”

Hiel is expected to begin service in Osseo Area Schools on July 1.
