Fridley Public Schools

A field full of happy children and enthusiastic parents on a sunny day marked the return of Fridley Tiger Club’s annual carnival.

“The carnival is held at the end of the summer in order to build community and strengthen relationships with our families,” said Childcare Coordinator Sally Leone. “Kids get to introduce their families to their friends and/or favorite instructor, and we get to spend some time connecting with parents and treating them to something fun to do with their children.”

Originally, in 2012, the end-of-summer event was a family picnic lunch, but it was difficult for parents and guardians to attend. Since switching it to an afternoon carnival, many more families have been able to attend and enjoy the event with their students. Leone said that this year was the best parent/guardian turn out to date.

Older Fridley students helped out by making signs, running games and face painting during the carnival. Leone said, “It’s always a great event and this year was no exception!”
