For Sara Jones, a lifelong love of public education is what inspired her to serve on the Fridley School Board. “I love public schools!” she said. Growing up, she benefited from the investment of dedicated teachers who shaped her learning. Later, in her own career as a teacher, she had the privilege of working alongside amazing students and colleagues. Those experiences deepened her passion for ensuring that Fridley Public Schools continues to be a place where students and staff feel valued.”

Sara is continually inspired by the students of Fridley Public Schools and the ways they contribute to both their schools and the wider community. “Our students are amazing!” she shared. She is proud that all students have opportunities to get involved, find belonging, and develop their ability to contribute and lead. This spirit of engagement strengthens both the school community and the broader Fridley community.

Serving on the school board is something Sara describes as both a responsibility and a joy. “I am grateful that the community has trusted me with the responsibility to serve,” she said. She treasures the chance to witness the many successes of students, staff, and families and considers it one of the greatest rewards of her service. “Witnessing the success of our students, staff and families is such a joy to me!”
