Fridley Public Schools
School Board Appreciation Month Spotlight: Sara Schreiner

With more than 25 years of experience as an educator, Sara Schreiner has seen the direct impact that school board decisions have on students, families, and staff. That perspective inspired her to run for the Fridley School Board. “In my career, I have championed opportunities for students who face financial, racial, or systemic barriers, and I want to expand that advocacy across our district,” she explained. Deeply rooted in the Fridley community, Sara believes in the power of collaboration – working alongside families, staff, unions, and local partners to keep the district strong, equitable, and well-funded so that every student has the opportunity to thrive.

Sara is proud of how Fridley Public Schools uplifts the entire community. “Fridley Public Schools strengthens our community by fostering belonging, opportunity, and success for every student,” she said. From a commitment to diversity and the International Baccalaureate curriculum to college and career readiness initiatives, Sara sees the district preparing students for the future while also creating lasting connections among families, staff, and partners. These connections, she notes, are what make Fridley a thriving and supportive city.

For Sara, service on the school board is about ensuring that students have the resources and opportunities they need to succeed. “I want people to know that my work is centered on connecting students to opportunities and resources that open doors for their future,” she shared. She is especially passionate about helping every student discover their path, achieve their goals, and develop the skills and confidence to be lifelong learners.

Sara’s commitment to Fridley reflects both her professional experience and her belief in education as a pathway to equity, opportunity, and success for every child.
