Criminal History Background Check
Fridley Public Schools is required to request a criminal history background check from the Superintendent of the Bureau of Criminal Apprehension on all individuals who are offered employment in a school and all individuals who are offered the opportunity to provide athletic coaching services or other extracurricular services to a school, regardless of whether any compensation is paid. (Enrolled student volunteers are exempt)

Fridley Middle School, Fridley High School and Fridley Area Learning Center qualify as Low-Income Schools for purposes of this loan forgiveness.

To qualify, you must meet both of the following requirements:
Be a current Fridley Public Schools employee
Have completed a bachelor's degree or have the equivalent of three years of college credits
You'll receive:

Would you love to help children grow their reading or math skills and succeed in school? If your answer is yes, you can serve as a tutor with Minnesota Reading Corps or Minnesota Math Corps at Stevenson or Hayes Elementary!
As a Literacy Tutor or Math Enrichment Tutor, you’ll use research-proven strategies to help students gain the reading or math skills they need to thrive in school and in life.
Tutors come from many backgrounds and include recent high school and college grads, career changers, stay-at-home parents, and retirees. With extensive training, support from onsite coaches, and evidence-based strategies, Reading Corps and Math Corps tutors are well-equipped to change lives. Additionally, Reading Corps and Math Corps tutors may earn a living allowance, education award, and federal student loan forbearance for their service.
Last year, Minnesota Reading Corps and Minnesota Math Corps provided direct services to more than 30,000 children in more than 700 sites across the state. Minimum Qualifications
You must meet the following minimum qualifications:
You have a high school diploma or a GED by your start date
You will be 18 years of age or older by your start date
You are either a citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident alien of the United States.
You have not already served 4 or more terms of service previously with AmeriCorps
Your criminal history clears our background policy
You can commit to 11 months of service, completing 1720 hours (full-time) or 920 hours (part-time), including required training.
On Tuesday, November 5, 2024, the general election will include an operating referendum and a facility bond referendum for Fridley Public Schools.
The deadline to register to vote online or in paper form is Tuesday, October 15 at 11:59 p.m.! Eligible voters may also register at the polls on election day itself.
