Welcome to the Fridley Public Schools Nutritional Services website
Hello Fridley students and families,
We value the opportunity to serve your children breakfast and lunch daily. The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) has extended the free breakfast and lunch to all students regardless of application status. Each student is able to have one breakfast and lunch daily at no charge. If your student is interested in purchasing a single milk, a second entrée or Ala Carte items (Middle and High Schools), they must have money in their lunch account.
Breakfast is provided in the classroom at the elementary schools and in the hallway at the middle school. Fridley High School students can receive breakfast before school or after 1st period from the High School Kitchen.
Fridley Middle and High School students must have their lunch bar code ready to scan at the cashier station. Due to safety reasons, students cannot manually type in their bar codes and we need to keep the lines moving for our student’s safety.
We are doing our best to follow the planned breakfast and lunch menus, however, we are experiencing product shortages and issues. We are not able to purchase some meal items due to manufacturing or labor issues by our manufacturers. We are experiencing the same issues as consumers are experiencing at the grocery store.
Apply for Educational Benefits
Remember to fill out your Application for Educational Benefits. Families of all incomes should complete this form to maximize funding for our students and schools. Completion of the applications benefit the district through compensatory funding and participation in various programs. Additionally, families may qualify for reduced activity and athletic fees. Online applications can be completed by clicking here. You can also complete a paper application and return it to your school office.
Hayes and Stevenson Elementary Schools are participating in the Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Program this year. Students will be receiving a fresh fruit or vegetable snack every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Please encourage your students to try the different fresh fruits or vegetables, as this program helps to expose students to a variety of nutritious options. This program is available to Fridley Public Schools through a USDA grant.
If you have any questions, you can contact our Nutritional Services Administrative Assistant Kathy Backstrom at 763-502-5021 or Director Renee Arbogast at 763-502-5022. Thank you and we look forward to serving your students.
Students who qualify for free or reduced-price meals may be eligible for Pandemic-Electronic Benefit Transfer (P-EBT) to purchase food for the days they are not in the school building. Click here to learn more.
