P-EBT Food Assistance

Summer 2021 P-EBT Update

Some families may be eligible to receive 2021 Summer P-EBT benefits. Per MDE guidance, your child must have been enrolled at Fridley Public Schools on June 10, 2021 and you completed the 2021-22 Application for Educational Benefits prior to September 3, 2021. These benefits will be distributed in late February or early March 2022. We are continuing to work with MDE to process those payments.

P-EBT for 2021-22 School Year for COVID Related Absences

Minnesota Department of Human Services has been approved to distribute P-EBT money for students who have been impacted by COVID related absences. P-EBT will be different than what was distributed last year. To be eligible, you must have been approved for Free or Reduced Priced meals for the 2021-22 school year.  

Benefits are NOT retroactive, so if you have not completed your 2021-22 Application for Educational Benefits, please complete now at or obtain a paper copy from your school’s main office.

Parents can verify if they have completed a 2021-22 Application for Educational Benefits by contacting Kathy Backstrom at 763-502-5021. For those families who received P-EBT benefits last year, please keep you P-EBT card, since your benefits will be loaded onto that card.
