Thank you to all our Fridley families and staff as we continue through this temporary transition to Blended Learning. Yesterday, all Fridley families received an important email update regarding learning models and transition timelines. If you did not receive this message, please contact your child's school. Below are updates on when students will return to in-person learning. In addition, there is NO SCHOOL for students on Friday, January 28 due to the Evaluation and Planning Day for staff. Monday, January 31 will continue to be a Modified Blended Learning Day for students. Families will receive communication from their child's schools on what their Modified Blended Learning Day will look like.

| School meals are available - EXTENDED HOURS: 11:00 am - 1:00 pm Remember, Fridley Public Schools Nutritional Services department is continuing to provide hot lunch and breakfast meals every school day (no service on Jan. 28 or Jan. 31). There are now extended hours from 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. All Preschool through Grade 12 students enrolled in Fridley Public Schools can receive meals at no charge. Families may pick up meals at the schools listed below for your children. - Stevenson Elementary: Main Entrance
- Hayes Elementary: Main Entrance
- Fridley Middle School: Cafeteria Doors
- Fridley High School: Door 15
PLEASE NOTE: Meals will continue to be available at the school sites listed above on Monday, Jan. 24 and Tuesday, Jan. 25. On Wednesday, Jan. 26 and Thursday, Jan. 27, meal pick up will only be available at Fridley Middle School and Fridley High School. No meal pick up will occur on Jan. 28 or Jan. 31. |

Fridley School Board members take Oath of Office, welcome newcomer Auna Fridley School Board members Nikki Auna, Ross Meisner, and Avonna Starck took their Oath of Office at the Board meeting held on January 18, 2022. Auna is a newcomer to the Board, while Meisner and Starck were re-elected. Board members also voted on organization roles, electing Meisner to serve as Chair, Abdisalam Adam to serve as Vice Chair, Auna as Treasurer, Jake Karnopp as Clerk, Donna Prewedo as Director, and Starck as Director. Diane Polski celebrates 32 years in the district, retirement Fridley Public Schools has always had the feel of a small town within the big city. A significant part of hometown Fridley pride includes the number of high school graduates who then become district employees – over 10 percent of our staff graduated from Fridley High School! Dedicating a significant time of her career to Fridley Public Schools, there are few who have served our district longer and been more involved in the lives of thousands of students than Diane Polski, Secretary to the Principal of Fridley Middle School. January Employee of the Month: Nancy Thole Congratulations to January Employee of the Month, Nancy Thole! Thole serves as a Stevenson Elementary paraeducator. According to Principal Veronica Mathison, Thole is a passionate and dedicated educator. "She is kind, patient and deeply compassionate," Mathison said. "She is able to stay calm and graceful at all times, and she is beyond gifted in the art of redirection and validation with students." Read more |

| P-EBT Update - Families impacted by COVID-19- related absences are eligible The Minnesota Department of Human Services has been approved to distribute P-EBT money for students who have been impacted by COVID related absences. P-EBT will be different than what was distributed last year. To be eligible for these benefits, you must have been approved for Free or Reduced Priced meals for the 2021-22 school year. Benefits are NOT retroactive, so if you have not completed your 2021-22 Application for Educational Benefits, please complete this now through the Campus Parent Portal or obtain a paper copy from your school's main office. | Get Ready Virtual Family Workshop - Navigating Teen Technology and Social Media Use - Jan. 25 Get Ready is offering an online family engagement event on Tuesday, January 25th from 6:30-8:00PM intended for Fridley Middle School and Fridley High School families. Get Ready is a federally funded program through the Minnesota Office of Higher Education in collaboration with the University of Minnesota Extension program. This virtual workshop, titled Navigating Teen Technology and Social Media Use, will provide insight on COVID-19's effect on teen technology and social media use, and what changes families might expect as young people return to school and activities. | Fridley Preschool Registration Night - Feb. 22 Attend Fridley Preschool Registration Night to learn more about our 3- and 4-year-old International Baccalaureate World School Preschool.
