EMR/EMT students receive hands-on training from Army National Guard
Fridley High School students in EMR/EMT (Emergency Medical Responder/Emergency Medical Technician) classes had the opportunity to receive hands-on training from Minnesota Army National Guard members on March 18. Guard members, including combat medics, worked with students on skills regarding trauma and medical scenarios. Students enjoyed seeing prehospital care from a military perspective and learning real-word lifesaving techniques. Did You Know? Students in the EMR/EMT classes are concurrently enrolled with Pine Technical and Community College, allowing them to earn college credits while taking this Fridley High School course. Students can earn three credits in the EMR course, and six credits in the EMT course, all of which are college credits in the Minnesota State School System. Students can also become certified as a professional EMR and/or EMT, which allows them the opportunity to directly enter the workforce upon graduation. |
