Fridley High School expands in-house college credit opportunities Saving time and tuition, Fridley High School (FHS) students have been getting a head start on their college transcripts by completing classes taught by their high school teachers. Through a partnership with Anoka-Ramsey Community College (ARCC), FHS offers an introduction to statistics course that allows students to successfully earn four college credits upon completion. For the 2022 – 2023 school year, FHS is expanding in-house college credit opportunities to offer College Algebra,* where students can earn three credits, and a college-level language and literature course,** which also provides three credits. The credits are recognized by the Minnesota State colleges and universities system, giving students an opportunity to begin their higher education while completing high school classes. Read more |

Fridley Middle School hosts staff vs. student basketball game The annual Fridley Middle School (FMS) staff vs. student basketball game was a spirited success! The FMS 7th and 8th grade students faced off against teachers and staff members in two friendly grade-level basketball games on April 13. As part of the Positive Behavior Interventions and Support (PBIS) program, commonly known as the Tiger GRIT program at the school, staff members organized the game to build upon positive school culture and relationships with students. The gym was buzzing with excitement and energy as students cheered on their peers from the bleachers. At the conclusion of each game, staff managed to remain victorious, although our students put in a great effort. "It's been almost 20 years since I've had that type of atmosphere in a game I've played in!" said Michael Reynolds, 7th grade dean. "Everybody had a lot of fun, and the students are already talking about a rematch!" View photos |
