Welcome to Fridley Public Schools

Fridley Public Schools is the first and only school district in the state of Minnesota to provide the full International Baccalaureate Programme Continuum (PYP, MYP, DP, and CP) to all PreKindergarten to Grade 12 students.

Fridley Public Schools received a generous donation of ink pens, felt-tipped pens, sharpened pencils, mechanical pencils, colored pencils, and student kits as beneficiaries of stationary company BIC’s annual Global Education Week charitable initiative in November.

Congratulations to Christina Huynh, our October Employee of the Month, who works as a lunch and recess supervisor at Stevenson Elementary School.

“Christina goes above and beyond as she has become a leader in her role,” said Veronica Mathison, principal at Stevenson Elementary. “She acts with kindness, patience, and brings calm to a space filled with voices and constant activity.”

FHS students and staff roll up their sleeves for biannual blood drive

Fridley High School’s chapter of the Minnesota Honor Society, in partnership with the American Red Cross, hosted its biannual blood drive in the school gymnasium on Friday, November 17. Sixty-six FHS students and staff chose to donate blood, with 43 first-time donors. In total, 43 pints of blood were donated, which will make a positive impact on the lives of more than 120 people.

FHS Chinese language students participate in immersive fall field trip

Students enrolled in the Fridley High School Chinese language program traveled to the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum and the Asia Mall for a field trip on Friday, November 10. “Through this field trip, students gained an authentic experience related to their lessons,” said Hsiao-hsuan Huang, Chinese language teacher at FHS.

On Tuesday, Nov. 7, voters chose three candidates to serve on the Fridley School Board, including reelecting Board Clerk Jake Karnopp to a second term, and electing first-time candidates Sara Jones and Erik Keeler. Jones has served as an interim board director since her appointment this summer to fill the seat vacated by Donna Prewedo.

On October 27, Fridley High School hosted an in-school college fair, offering students a unique opportunity to explore their postsecondary options firsthand. Students gained valuable information about their potential future academic endeavors.
