School News
On December 18, Fridley High School hosted its 15th Annual Extended Essay Silver Platter Celebration in the FHS Media Center. This special event brought together families, School Board Director Sara Jones, district staff, FHS administration, and selected teachers to celebrate the achievements of our IB students. The ceremony honored current 12th-grade IB Diploma candidates, the Class of 2024 IB Diploma recipients, and introduced the Extended Essays of the Class of 2025 IB Diploma candidates.
Fridley Public Schools will modify afternoon schedules today, Thursday, December 19, 2024, due to snow and road conditions impacting our busing schedules.
Fridley Middle School held its annual Bingo Night on Thursday, December 12, drawing an impressive crowd of about 230 attendees—the largest turnout in the event’s history.
The Tiger Club hosted its Fall Family Fun Night, an event designed to bring parents and children together for an evening of food, games, and activities. The University of Wisconsin Eau Claire Jazz 1 band made a special visit to Fridley High School on Tuesday, December 3, giving students an unforgettable day of music and learning.
On a chilly November day, 328 students voluntarily jumped into ice cold water as a part of the annual Cool School Mobile Polar Plunge. The Polar Plunge is a fundraising event for Special Olympics Minnesota that aims to give people with intellectual and physical disabilities the instruction and encouragement to participate in sports. Funds raised help to provide training and services to Special Olympic athletes across the state.
Fridley Preschool families gathered together for the annual Preschool International Baccalaureate (IB) Night on Thursday, November 14. Approximately 30-40 families attended the evening event.
On Thursday, November 7, Fridley High School's Chinese Program took 88 students on an exciting field trip to the University of Minnesota (U of M). The trip, themed Career and Language, was designed to help students explore future career paths and learn about resources available to Chinese language learners.
Families with young children filled the Fridley Community Center gym on Nov. 9 for the annual Fridley Early Childhood Family Education Fall Festival. Children were greeted with multiple family oriented activities such as coloring, a pumpkin tic-tac-toe toss, a bounce house, storytime and more, helping foster their learning and development.
On November 1, Fridley High School held a college fair, giving students a chance to learn more about their future options after high school. The event helped students get important information about different colleges and what they offer.
